Dear Parents/Guardians,
Due to the success of your Christmas platters at our last Christmas Bazaar we thought it would be great to ask the children to help again this year with filling another plate with some small items that we could then sell on the day. This year we are asking children from both the Infant and Junior School to take part.
The PTA will supply you with a paper plate (via book bags) and then it’s up to you to be as creative as you want. In previous years some of the great ideas we have had, have been:
- Theme – a well-loved popular character perhaps.
- Beauty Ideas – perhaps some hair clips, bands, bracelets, etc.
- Football – chocolate footballs, football stickers etc.
- Gift for Gran – ball of wool with knitting pattern/tea-marmalade/biscuits.
- New baby basket – filled with cotton wool, lotion or a rattle.
- Gardening Plates – packet of seeds, gardening gloves.
- Present for Dad – golf balls, football items, car-cleaning etc.
- Toiletries – small selection of soaps, for Mums or Aunts.
- Stationery – pencil & ruler set, or pens & pencils or even stickers.
- Garden Birds – nuts and seeds for bird feed.
- Pets – filled with stocking fillers for you cat, dog, rabbit, etc.
There is no need to spend a lot of money; just help the children fill the platter and then cover it with a strong, transparent wrap and add a bow. Clearly label your child’s name and class on the underside of the platter.
They will all be displayed for sale at the Bazaar, on Saturday 1st December, on our popular Christmas Platter Stall. There will be a prize for the best-dressed platter for the boy and girl in each year, so enjoy filling and decorating them.
Please can we ask that you return the platters by Thursday 29th November so that they can be judged before the Bazaar on the Saturday.
Thank you for your help and support
