Junior UV Discos

Years 5 & 6 (5.45pm – 7.00pm)

The price of a ticket is £5.50 and this includes a drink. Children are welcome / encouraged to embrace their inner UV glow and dress up accordingly.

Tickets will be available to purchase via parentpay, we will advise further when they are ready to purchase and then they will be available until Monday, 14 October, although please note that there is a limit on the number of tickets that can be sold for each disco so it could sell out earlier.

These discos are very popular and great fun for the children, but they do require a lot of adult supervision (even more so if we are to run two discos). If you are able to help, please email the PA on pa@upminsterschoolsparents.co.uk advising whether it is the Year 3 & 4 disco or the Year 5 &6 disco that you are able to help at, your contact details the name of your child and their class by no later than Friday, 11th October. Please note, due to new requirements under the Trust, all helpers (of which we will require 10 for each disco) are now required to hold DBS certificate (which has been acknowledged by the school) and have completed the school’s safeguarding training.

If we are undersubscribed for the discos (or we do not have a sufficient number of helpers to run the discos safely) then we may either need to combine the two and run with just the one disco between 4.00pm and 5.15pm or cancel the discos in their entirety. We would inform you on Tuesday, 15th October in the event that this is necessary and would arrange to refund your monies.

We ask that all children are met by an adult after the event, and if you are unable to, please let us know the adult that will be collecting your child on your behalf.

Tickets will not be issued for this event but an attendance list will be on the door. Please assume that if you have paid for a place your child has been added to the list unless notified otherwise. For any queries please contact the PA on the above email address.

There will be a tuck shop where children can purchase a variety of sweets/snacks – everything priced at 50p. There will also be glow sticks on sale at £1 each, so please send your child with
some change.

Children should be dropped off and collected via the old Junior School Office door. Please gain access to the school for drop off through the infant school gate next to Superdrug.

If your child attends the afterschool club and wishes to come to the disco can you please let them know in advance whether you will be picking your child up directly from the club as previously arranged or from the disco and please remember to send your child in with their disco outfits to change into.

It would be really helpful if all parent/guardians could take their child’s coat away with them when dropped off, as this saves time collecting the children at the end of the disco and also reduces the potential for clothing to go missing.

Please note: once tickets have been purchased the PA will not be able to offer any refunds (unless the event is cancelled), however, please contact us if you no longer require your ticket(s) as we may be able to sell it on for you.
