Year 3 playground transformation!

We are really excited to announce our new fundraising initiative to transform an old, disused area of the school into a fantastic new area that can be utilised by children in both schools.

The area behind the old kitchen which has recently been demolished is known as the ‘year 3 playground’ as historically, the year 3 classes used this at break times. It’s a concrete area, with sloping floor, and is pretty cramped and uninspiring to be honest. Over time, this area has been used less and less frequently, but now it’s time to give it a make over!

There are photos attached of what it looks like currently, and then a projection of what it will look like when the work has been completed. It will be a fantastic area that can be used by children from across both schools with lots of installations and interesting and educational areas. It will be all weather, with specialist flooring meaning it can be used all year round.

A project of this size isn’t cheap though, and we are currently facing a huge challenge to fundraise for this – we have already been given an absolutely incredible grant towards this project of over £27,000 secured thanks to the generosity of a company that one of our Junior parents works for. She kindly put us forward for consideration and we were delighted to be accepted. If there are any other parents who work for companies who make charitable donations, please get in touch with the PFA as we would love to hear about them! Matched funding also makes a huge difference. Perhaps you could volunteer some of your time at an event, setting up, manning a stall, shopping for supplies etc and we can apply to your employer to match the funds that the event raises. It’s free money and a fantastic way for us to boost our donations.

Obviously, we want to keep providing our schools with the things they need and want – this is an extra, but we will be putting some focus on this and we hope to keep you up to date with our progress.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch hello@uspfa.co.uk

Many thanks
